Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the potential of robotics in the oil and gas industry with a focus on the integration of advanced solutions from the fields of construction and mechanical engineering. Based on a review of key publications in recent years in highly rated journals, the relevance of the topic for the sustainable development of the oil and gas sector is outlined. The purpose of the study is to identify the most promising areas and barriers for the robotization of the industry, taking into account the specifics of construction and engineering technologies. The methodological base includes a comprehensive analysis of statistical data on the market, expert interviews with industry representatives (n=25), and case studies of leading companies. The results demonstrate a significant potential for improving the efficiency and safety of oil and gas operations through robotics, in particular: reducing equipment downtime by 20-25%, reducing personnel injuries by 15-20%, and increasing labor productivity by up to 30% (p<0.05). At the same time, the key challenges are highlighted: the high cost of solutions, the need for staff retraining, and cybersecurity risks. The analysis made it possible to form practical recommendations on stimulating robotics in the industry and identify the most promising niches, taking into account competencies in related sectors. The theoretical significance of the work is related to the development of the concept of digital transformation of resource-intensive industries based on cross-industrial innovations.
