Abstract

A comparative assessment of the properties, namely, corrosivity, environmental impact and melting capacity, of substances used as components of low-temperature anti-icing reagents is conducted. It is shown that the presence of at least three components allows for a reduction in the content of historically used sodium chloride, which has been criticized for its negative impact on the environment and road infrastructure, as well as its low efficiency at temperatures below -12°C. It is shown that a rational combination of the components considered, given their characteristics and limitations, enables the production of highly effective and environmentally friendly products with minimal impact on road infrastructure.
