Abstract

In modern construction, digital control systems for construction machinery and mechanisms play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of production processes. Stopping such systems for software updates leads to significant equipment downtime and economic losses. The paper proposes a methodology for continuous updating of digital control systems for construction equipment without interrupting production processes. The methodology is based on the use of container technologies to isolate control system components, dynamically load balancing between redundant controllers, and the phased transfer of construction machinery to updated versions of the control software. Experimental studies at a construction site with 15 units of heavy machinery have shown that the switching time between control system versions does not exceed 120 ms, and the decrease in construction productivity during the upgrade is less than 3%. The proposed approach provides savings from preventing downtime of up to 2.4 million rubles per month at large construction sites while maintaining a high level of safety and reliability of the equipment management system.
