Abstract

The work is devoted to an urgent problem – reducing the wear rate of highly loaded friction units of telescopic booms of cranes. Physico-mechanical tests of the base plastic lubricant and its dispersions with graphene oxide additives in the concentration range from 0,25 to 0,75 wt. %, temperatures from 20 to 180℃. The introduction of the graphene oxide additive into the base lubricant made it possible to reduce the penetration value by 7,5%, and to increase the drop-off temperature by 20°C. Rheological tests revealed the rational concentration of graphene oxide additive (0,5 wt. %) at which the maximum value of shear stress and dynamic viscosity was observed. In order to predict the effect of the concentration of graphene oxide additives and normal load on the wear rate, a mathematical model was developed. It is shown that the created model is reliable. It is proved that the decisive factor affecting the wear rate of a polymer sliding plate is the load and the combined effect of the concentration of the additive graphene oxide and high load. A maximum decrease in wear intensity by 40% was observed for the dispersion of base PSM graphene oxide additive at a concentration of 0,5 wt%.
