Abstract

In modern cement production, cement quality depends on particle size. This influences the key parameters characterizing cement quality: strength, setting time, water consumption, etc. The finer the grinding, the better its performance. However, crushing clinker requires a large amount of energy. Depending on the equipment, this amounts to 50-60 kWh per ton of cement, which accounts for 50-70% of the total energy consumed in cement production. One way to reduce energy consumption is through the use of pre-grinders. Their use reduces the energy consumption of ball mills for crushing and increases their service life. Therefore, it is advisable to use a spring-rod mill as a pre-grinder for cement clinker, as it has a simple design and is easy to use and maintain.
