Abstract

The article examines the problem of optimizing modern web applications that operate on legacy backend systems, which are often characterized by limited scalability and high resource consumption. Such systems become a performance bottleneck under increasing user load. To address this issue, an approach based on introducing an intermediate edge caching layer using the Nitro framework is proposed. The solution enables partial request processing and content delivery at the edge without modifying the existing backend architecture. The study focuses on practical implementation aspects of the caching server for small and medium-sized businesses. Experimental results obtained through load testing demonstrate a significant reduction in backend load, improved system stability, and a substantial decrease in page rendering time, leading to enhanced overall application performance.
