«Stroitel'nye i dorozhnye mashiny» is intended for the publication of modern research aimed at the development, design, operation, and maintenance of special equipment used in the construction and road industry. The publication is targeted both at the scientific community and at industry and business representatives interested in enhancing the efficiency, safety, and durability of construction and road machines.

The journal has been published since 1956 and is included in the List of Leading Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation, in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences must be published.

The journal is published monthly (12 times a year).
